What can we learn from Nauru?
“What can we learn from Nauru” tells the story of Nauru, a little island in the Pacific, destroyed in the 20th century by phosphate mining. The mining activity brought extreme wealth to the island, but as soon as the resources finished Nauru found itself facing an economic, humanitarian and enviromental crisis. The island become a metaphor for the world, dealing with the imminent phosphorus scarcity. What will happen when phosphorus will finish? Is there any alternative to the myth of infinite growth? What can we learn from Nauru?
